Volunteers are a vital part of our McGill community, on campus and around the world. By connecting with your alma mater, you can expand your network, develop a variety of skills or make an important contribution to our students’ future-readiness.

Contribute to Our Students’ Future-Readiness

Nurture the next generation of talent by sharing your experience. You can share insights from your career path in a variety of ways: online or over coffee, by inviting one or several students to your place of work for a job shadowing opportunity, or over the long-term by mentoring a student as they navigate academia and the world of work. Here’s how you can contribute:

Become a positive influence in the life of a McGill student by providing academic and/or career guidance for a minimum two-month period. Learn more.

 

 

Other Ways to Get Involved

Curious about volunteering, but not sure where to start? There are many rewarding opportunities for you at McGill. Here are just a few ideas:

  • Join an alumni affinity group or branch of the McGill Alumni Association
  • Represent the McGill Alumni Association as an ambassador in your area
  • Participate in career-related workshops, panels or events in-person or online
  • Become a social media ambassador for McGill within your network
  • Become a fundraising ambassador for McGill
  • Organize your class or affinity group reunion
