Tahiti and French Polynesia

Tahiti and French Polynesia

Our trip to Tahiti and French Polynesia exceeded all our expectations. The cruise ship delighted us with its well-appointed rooms, delicious meals and perfect service. We swam, snorkeled and explored to our hearts’ content under waving palms and sunny skies. Our interesting and affable fellow passengers, mostly from McGill and other North American universities, contributed greatly to our enjoyment, as did the hostesses from Gohagan and Co. Having always loved the music from the South Pacific, I really felt I had found “Bali Hai”. This trip was a dream come true. Thank you McGill Alumni Association. Margot Maclaren, BA’65

Tanzania

Tanzania

Our trip to Tanzania met all our expectations and beyond. To experience the varying African landscapes and to view so many animals in their natural habitats was amazing. The guides were so accommodating. They were experts in locating animals for us to view and in answering all sorts of questions to do with the animals and life in Tanzania. The individual rooms and main buildings all had great views and very relaxing atmosphere. This safari was worth every dollar and more! Christine (BEd’72) and Martin Tully

Croatia

Croatia

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our Croatia trip on many levels. There were fascinating sites of historical significance, and places of breathtaking natural beauty. To top it off, our lodgings and meals were excellent. We only wish the trip was longer! Thank you, McGill. Ronald Jhu, BSc’66

Amazon River

Amazon River

The Amazon River Expedition was a once in a lifetime experience that surpassed our expectations. We were thrilled with everything, from the comfortable accommodations, to the knowledgeable guides, and the many fascinating excursions along the river. The lectures on board ship were an unexpected bonus. Our post-tour trip to the Sacred Valley of the Incas and Machu Picchu was also extraordinary, and our guide had an amazing knowledge of Peruvian history and culture. This was our first McGill Alumni trip, but definitely not our last. Doug Brock, BSc’58, and Valerie Gibaut

China

China

China was my sixth McGill trip and, as always, fantastic. Well-organized itinerary, delightful, well-informed guides with deep knowledge of the history, culture and
traditions of the country, compatible and interesting travel companions – all came together to deliver a fascinating experience of an ancient civilization at the same time as a glimpse of the transition into today’s fastpaced world. Sally McDougall, BSc’68, DipEd’69, DLitt'13

Galapagos Islands

Galapagos Islands

We had wanted to go to the Galapagos Islands for some time, and our trip there with our McGill group was everything we expected. Excellent lecturers, knowledgeable tour guides, a comfortable modern ship, and lots of animals, birds, and fish, many of which one cannot see elsewhere. Plus, good weather, and a tour of Quito! Mary and Tom Morton, BEng’59, MEng’64

Italy

Italy

If you love Italy and the Mediterranean civilization as much as we do, McGill’s “Voyages to the Antiquity” or the more recent trip through Apulia have been unique opportunities to savour both their past and present. With experienced lecturers, knowledgeable guides and local hosts whose ballroom might have served the filming of The Leopard, every experience felt rich and layered. Whether you sail into Venice at dawn or explore the indigenous architecture of Alberobello, you feel your trip has been enhanced by others, including, of course, your fellow alumni.
