ACTIVITIES AND TOOLS

Quick, easy and popular activities

The McGill Alumni Association asks that you organize one (or more) of the following in your role as a regional branch or global ambassador:

Welcome alumni (back) to the city

McGill alumni can be found in over 180 countries around the world, and one way to say "Bienvenue" to new or returning alumni is to offer a "Welcome to Your City" event. It can be a large-scale cocktail reception or a one-on-one coffee meetup, just as long as there's time to network!

Career and professional event

Whether it's finding new job opportunities, keeping current in your field or making business connections, the McGill alumni network can help you in getting ahead in today's workforce. Industry-specific meetups, mentoring workshops and networking cocktails are all events where alumni can share career advice and stories. Or better still, join McGillConnect and encourage your fellow McGill alumni to join as well – it's the perfect tool to pair those McGill mentors and mentees.

Social and cultural activities

Pub and martini nights, local theatre performances, and concerts are all popular ways to bring a group of McGill alumni together. And arranging for a group rate will encourage a greater turnout!

Celebrate McGill talent in your region

Stay on top of McGill news and local listings, and keep an eye out for when notable and talented McGill alumni are in town (e.g. political leaders, musicians, speakers, professors, performers). Invite other McGillians to join you at a lecture, talk or performance.
