Electronic Access

Did you know that as a McGill graduate, you have access to thousands of electronic publications through the McGill Library? Your learning experience at McGill doesn’t have to end when you graduate. Whether it’s the latest New York Times bestseller or a digital version of your favourite magazine, chances are you can find it in the McGill Library, and it’s yours to borrow, free of charge. Alumni can borrow e-books and e-audiobooks on the Libby platform.

Note: In order to access McGill Library e-resources for alumni, you will be asked to sign in using your McGill username (first.last@mail.mcgill.ca) and password. If you don't have a McGill username or you need to reset your password, click here.

In-person Access

Alumni have access to a wide selection of McGill Library’s print collections on campus. Sign up for your free McGill Library Borrowing Card for Alumni today to start borrowing from the Library’s collection of 3.9 million physical volumes.

Events at the Library

The Library holds a number of free annual seminars and events, often in association with the Friends of the Library. These events are designed to promote the Library within the broader McGill and Montreal communities, and illuminate the Library’s rich collections against a vivid backdrop of Canadian history, culture and politics.
